Restoring Hope in Crooked Island

The Bahamas Hurricane Restoration Fund is pleased to announce that due to a very generous donation from Louis Bacon’s Moore Bahamas Foundation and other generous patrons, we are restoring the ACL Hall in Crooked Island.

The ACL Hall is the most central community building to the Crooked Island community. It serves many purposes and is regularly used for community gatherings, charity events, cultural festivals, weddings and children’s schooling and church services when schools and churches are not available.

Once fully restored, the ACL Hall will be able to serve as a symbol of hope and catalyst for healing in the community. In addition to providing the central meeting space, it can also be used for temporary housing to accommodate construction crews and serve as a hurricane shelter. Additionally, we are incorporating solar power and reverse osmosis for clean drinking water.
