OUR CAUSE

Hurricane Dorian crashed into The Bahamas on Saturday, August 31, 2019, beginning a days-long onslaught on the northwestern Bahamian islands of Abaco, Grand Bahama and Eleuthera. The Category 5 storm, with winds from 185 mph to 220 mph, was the largest and most powerful storm to hit the archipelago in recorded history, and the damage left in its wake – flattened homes have left tens of thousands displaced – is equally unprecedented. This catastrophic situation requires urgent assistance from far and wide.

100% of funds raised will be used to help the survivors of Hurricane Dorian.

OUR STORY

OUR SUCCESSES

Restoring Hope in Crooked Island

The Bahamas Hurricane Restoration Fund is pleased to announce that due to very generous donations from a number of patrons, we were able to achieve the restoration of the ACL Hall in Crooked Island to the standards required to withstand hurricane-force wind and rain. The ACL Hall is the most central community building to the Crooked Island community. It serves many purposes and is regularly used for community gatherings, charity events, cultural festivals, weddings and children’s schooling and church services when schools and churches are not available.

The Bahamas Hurricane Restoration Fund is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Services as a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. Monetary donations are tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers.
